Remember those glorious day when you spent weeks buying all your holiday clothes, packed them carefully in your suitcase and deserted the windswept, rainy shores, of your native country for the brilliantly sunny shores of Spain. Suddenly you were in another world. Shorts ,T shirts, and Bikinis replaced gloves, hats, and scarves.

You left a ruffled bed in the morning and returned in the evening to a tidy clean room with the bed made for you. No need to cook or wash dishes. The day was spent sunbathing, swimming in the pool, pottering round the shops and supping ale. In the evening a G&T on the balcony before setting off for a bit of evening entertainment. Those were the days.

Now you can recapture some of that relaxing holiday feeling with a great value for money excursion by coach from in and around Torrevieja. The journey takes us down past Murcia and Granada, reaching the Costa Tropical at Motril.

A short drive along the coast brings us to our large, comfortable 4 star seaside hotel. Large spacious rooms, fully en suite with TV phone and balcony give a favourable first impression. Friendly helpful staff in reception point out the other features of the hotel. A large bar with regular entertainment, a mini bowling alley, a sauna and Jacuzzi area, a good sized indoor pool, a large sunbathing area with outdoor pool.

But there's more. The nearby town of Almuñecar offers an aquarium, complete with fish tunnel, a botanic garden, a Parrot park, golden sands and sophisticated bars. Also nearby is smaller Herradura. Again offering golden sands and lively bars.

The holiday is broken up with a day trip to that most British of British places, Gibraltar. Steeped in history, this world famous rock counts amongst its inhabitants, the monkeys which it is said, ensure British ownership of the rock. From the heights of the rock on a clear day you can gaze over to the Atlas Mountains on the shores of Africa. A lively main street full of bargain hunters visiting M&S, British Home Stores and the likes leads to the revered graveyard where lie the remains of some of those lost in the battle of Trafalgar. The awe inspiring caves of San Miguel, leads us to a honeycomb of corridors cut in to the bowels of the rock by the British Army. The army which has defended the rock from all comers for centuries. Gibraltar you must see at least once.

Another day out takes us to the delightful mountain village of Mijas with it's nappy wearing donkeys carrying fascinated tourists round the village. Then down to Torremolinos with all the buzz of a busy international holiday resort.. This seven day holiday is currently being offered by David's Coachtrips SL. from 16-22 October for only 295€. This is full board with wine/water and including excursions. A great combination of lazy ,lively and lovely, this seems like a great deal to us and should appeal to all tastes.
