Colourful Cuenca...

Our much-loved Cuenca excursion - a really busy, fun loving 3 days amongst some of the finest scenery in the country. 3* accommodation in a charming, family run hotel which sits alongside the village of Cañete.

This village is the ancient capital of the region and even has its own medieval city walls. The journey to Cañete, is varied and interesting. Flashing past medieval castles, modern towns and ancient villages. Winding along country roads bordered by flowing rivers, pine forests and cultivated fields. Stopping en route with a chance to sample local wines and cheeses.

On arrival at the hotel we go straight to lunch. Served with liberal quantities of local wine. During our stay we will visit the local village of Cañete, take in some multi-coloured lakes, travel through gorges to "The Enchanted City, "Window of the Devil", Source of the River Cuervo, and of course the City of Cuenca with it delightful Cathedral and world famous hanging houses.

A few fun loving surprises along the way round off a great 3 day break. At only 139€ per person, full board with wine and water included, this has to be one of the best value breaks around.
