Caravaca Medieval Market Monday 6th December
- Availability: Available Now
The Caravaca Medieval market is a must. Now confirmed for this year, it will be taking place over 4 days so to avoid overcrowding. The beautiful setting of Caravaca makes this trip more special.
It attracts over 200 stalls who occupy the historic streets of the Old Quarter, Plaza Arco, Plaza Nueva and the connected side streets. A wide range of demonstrations take place as stallholders sell their produce. There is glassblowing, bread baked in woodfired ovens, leatherwork, ceramics and jewellers. Organic honey is sold, gathered by bees from the hills, and remember when buying honey, that 1 teaspoon of honey is the lifetimes work of 12 bees !! Sweet Christmas pastries, goat and sheep cheeses from ecological farmers, organic wines from regional vineyards as well as handmade soaps and meat products. Warm spiced wine, sausages and racks of ribs (please ask for the price before you buy because they can be expensive), jugglers, Medieval music and costumed artisans playing hand crafted instruments. There are also areas for children, with workshops, falconry, and food stands. There will be a medieval Jousting tournament in the Plaza de Toros,- acts of daring thrills and spills with a dash of bravery. Tickets can be bought on the day.
Pick up times are generally between 8.30am/9.30am returning between 6.00pm/7.00pm but these will be confirmed the day before travel.
