  • Based in the interesting town of Antequera in the heart of Andalucia, the 3* Hotel Coso Viejo is in an ideal situation for you to explore the town.   The town of Antequera spreads out below an imposing medieval castle. The busy main street buzzes all day with activity. Monasteries, convents, churches and medieval gates are dotted all round the town. A charismatic town in which to explore or relax. Day trips take us first to Ronda and then to Malaga. Ronda is an attractive town set in amongst the mountain range of the same name. It is here in Ronda that the art of bullfighting as we know it to day was born and developed. So the bullring here is seen as one of the most important in Spain. Everywhere you go you are met with terrific views of the surrounding mountains. The old Moorish town is connected to the more modern town with a bridge which spans the gorge dividing the two sides.  Malaga by contrast is larger and is located beside the sea. Not only is this a popular holiday resort, it also enjoys considerable historical significance. A Roman theatre is nestled next to a Moorish castle on the hillside overlooking the city, a magnificent Cathedral dominates the city centre, and horse drawn carriage rides are available for those who fancy something a bit different. Leafy esplanades provide resting spots, or you could spend time on the beach. For art lovers, this is the birthplace of Pablo Picasso. Not only can you visit the house where he was born, but you can also see the many works of art produced by lesser known members of his family. Malaga provides a memorable day out.  On the final day, just before leaving for home,  we will make a short visit to the Torcals. This is a magnificent expanse of rock formations set amongst the mountains. These multi shaped rocks were formed as a result of the ice age, and leave us in awe of the tremendous power of nature, and with a little imagination seeing an ark of animals.

Order of the visits may be subject to change, either due to local fiestas, holidays or logistical reasons
