This evening event enables you to witness the Murcia Good Friday parade.
Aiming to arrive in Murcia at 6pm and staying until 11pm it gives you the chance to witness the processions of the Merciful Christ, one from the church of St Stephen, the Holy Sepulchre and St Bartholomew. The participants are clothed in penitential robes (nazarenos) which consists of a tunic, a hood with a conical tip used to conceal the face. They carry processional candles or rough-hewn wooden crosses, may walk the streets berefoot, and in some places may carry shackles on their feet as penance.
Certainly worth experiencing the largest and most important day of the Holy week.
