Orihuela Medieval Market Sunday 1st February 2026

Every year Orihuela turns the clock back for hundreds of years and hosts a festival which brings back life as it was in the Middle Ages.

The market covers a huge area beginning at the Cathedral with countless stalls selling food & drink, trinkets, artifacts, jewellery and clothes with all vendors being dressed

up in period costume.  In between the stalls meander musicians, drummers & groups parading in ever more fanciful outfits entertaining visitors with their performances.

There are numerous jugglers, acrobats, and fencers to add to the fun.

The Arabic past is never forgotten in Spain and therefore you will also find a bazaar complete with camels, and even a belly dancer sashaying her way down the streets with her musicians.

Along the side of the cathedral,  rare birds of prey, so typical of the falconers of the times are sitting on their perches watching passers by with attentive eyes.

No-body needs to go hungry at this fair, a popular attraction is the suckling pigs roasting on a spit, paella, ribs and wonderful spanish wines which are all readily available.

The market hours are generally 10:00 - 14:30 & 16:30 - 23:00. You have free time also to get a meal before our return. The food outlets at the market generally stay open throughout the day. 

We will have a min of 1 coach starting south at Los Alcazares and 1 starting north at gran Alacant and heading to Orihuela via Los Balcones .
